A man is cutting logs with an axe in the left foreground, while a male missionary reads, probably from the Bible to a Tongan man, woman and child on the right. There is another Tongan seated on the ground near the house and another carrying a load towards the house's front door.
Lower view: A river in the foreground with a canoe. A Tongan woman is stepping into the water behind the canoe.
